Thirty-six athletes have been selected to represent Australia at the 13th IAAF World Junior Athletics Championships in Moncton, Canada from July 19-25, 2010.

The team will compete for the first time as the Australian Spark.

Six members of last year’s IAAF world youth championships will lead the squad, including high jump silver medallist Amy Pejkovic (NSW). Mitchell Tysoe (110m hurdles, NSW), Dane Bird-Smith (10,000m walk, Qld), Paige Hooper (10,000m walk, SA), Brooke Stratton (long jump, Vic) and Taryn Gollshewsky (discus throw, Qld).

Our 10,000m walking team is looking particularly promising with Bird Smith, Hooper, Rhydian Cowley (Vic) and Regan Lamble (Vic) all having represented Australia at the IAAF Race Walking Cup in Chihuahua, Mexico in May.
