Scientific trials find the juice reduces pain and inflammation

Many juices have recovery-enhancing properties – from coconut water, with its high electrolyte content to pomegranate juice, which is full of antioxidants. Tart cherry juice takes the massage in a glass award, though. Trials at the Oregon Health and Science University found it reduced pain and inflammation, and hastened muscle recovery in runners. The subjects consumed 700mL of juice for seven days before and on the day of their race.
