Wondering what to get the sneaker nerd in your life for Valentine’s Day? Adidas has dropped a heart-themed reimagining of the brand’s classic Stan Smith tennis shoe.
The new V-Day sneaker comes in a white leather version with a red debossed heart graphic, and a super-shiny red patent leather shoe with white detailing. Both colourways have white laces and a white rubber cup sole, with the trademark three stripes inside the heart-shaped cutout.
Let’s be real—the Stan Smith is not a good shoe for running, and hasn’t been since the days of early ’60s professional tennis, when it was first released. But the minimalist sneaker does strike just the level of formality most runners I know aim for when dressing up to go out, so the shoe has “date night” written all over it even without the added heart graphics.
